Marie Louise
HaldBrand Photographer & Visual Storyteller
PHOTOGRAPHER & VISUAL STORYTELLER WORKING ACROSS HOSPITALITY, INTERIORS AND DESIGN. CREATING CONSIDERED IMAGERY SHAPED BY PLACE, MATERIAL AND LIGHT. WITH A QUIET ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS THAT GIVE EACH BRAND ITS CHARACTER.

A sensory approach
I build visual worlds for brands that live in the details — the fall of linen, the grain of oiled oak, the hour when the light turns.
My work sits between interior design, still photography and brand communication. I pay attention to how a space feels before deciding how it should be seen — working with light, proportion and the small details that give a place its character.
Based in Southeast Asia and rooted in Copenhagen, I work with boutique hotels, furniture makers and craft-led studios across Scandinavia and Southeast Asia. The process is considered and collaborative, shaped around the people, place and visual language behind each brand.

A philosophy
“The most honest visual stories are found in the details — the way light moves, materials age, and a space begins to feel like itself.”

How I work
Four stepsReading the space
I begin by looking closely — at the light, materials, proportions and details that give a place or product its character.
Finding the direction
Together, we shape a visual direction that feels right for the brand, with room for the project to develop naturally as we work.
Making the work
The shoot is calm and considered, creating space for the strongest images to emerge across the formats and moments the project calls for.
Shaping the outcome
The final edit is refined around the intended use and ambition of the project, leaving the brand with a coherent visual language to build on.

Philosophy
My work has grown out of years spent between brand communication, interiors and photography. Working with spaces taught me to pay attention to proportion, material and light; working with brands taught me to understand the story behind what is being created. Photography became a natural meeting point between the two.
I work slowly and intuitively, with an interest in what is already there rather than what can be constructed around it. I look for the character of a place — in the light, the materials, the way it is used and the details that make it particular. The aim is not to show everything, but to create images that leave enough space to feel something.
Whether developing a visual direction or creating an ongoing body of imagery, I work closely with the people behind the brand. The result should feel considered but never overworked — imagery that feels true to the place, distinct to the brand and able to stand quietly on its own.
